Who is this site for?

This site is for patients or families of patients diagnosed with uterine sarcoma who want to be treated in a clinical trial. I believe it's important to join a trial because treatment in a trial is often associated with better care. Also the outcomes for uterine sarcoma with standard treatment are lagging behind those for many other cancers and the only way to advance the state-of-the-art is to test new treatments.

Where does this information come from?

Investigating, validating and translating.

image There are many trials to treat uterine sarcoma that you can find on the web (see clinicaltrials.gov for a lot of them) but I have found only some of them are open for new patients. For each trial that I find, I verify that it is open by emailing or calling the person that is officially desginated as the contact for that trial. I then take the text describing the trial online and translate it so that it is less technical and more familiar to patients who are not doctors. For this translation, I seek the help of family members and friends who are more familiar with medicine. But these translations are not mean to be authoritative. If you want the full details for each trial, I provide the link to the original on-line description so that you can see for yourself.

I am constantly trying to improve this site so all comments are welcome (see the contact page). If you know of a uterine sarcoma trial that is registered with a official trial site (like clinicaltrials.gov) and which is recruiting patients and which I have not included on this site, please do send me a link.
